Fishing- The Great American Adventure
Fishing is one of the most favorite past times of Americans and other people around the world alike. It is a great way to enjoy nature and spend time doing thing our ancestors once did to survive. However, unlike many years ago, if you want to go fishing now you must first purchase a fishing license. This is a requirement no matter where you go fishing whether it is in the city or out in the country.
When purchasing a fishing license you will be asked whether you are a resident or nonresident in the state that you wish to fish in. Nonresidents will pay a higher price for their fishing license. This is true no matter what state you are fishing in. Nonresidents can also typically only purchase a temporary license which generally lasts three to five days. Residents on the other hand, can purchase either a temporary license or one that is good for the entire year.
The licenses are usually good for either urban or rural fishing. However you can obtain a license that is good for both. This is great for people who live in the city and like to use the nearby lakes and streams to fish in but also want to go out into the country to fish at times too.
Certain fishing stamps are generally purchased at the same time you buy your fishing license. These stamps allow you to fish for certain types of fish, that you can not catch without the specific stamp. These stamps are usually for bass fish or trout fish, but it really just depends on the area in which you are going fishing. If you are caught fishing without the specific stamp for the fish you are catching you can receive stiff fines and possible jail time.
