How to Use Bass Fishing Lures
Have you ever thought about going fishing for bass, but you dont know how to use a fishing lure? It is actually quit simple. Just give me a few minutes to explain and I will have you eating bass for dinner in no time!
If you are fishing in deep water, you will need a crank bait for bass. Crank baits float and they have a lip built in on them. When the angler is retrieved rapidly, the lip will force the entire bait down. This is helpful to the fisherman. He can start the bait on top of the water, and then it will dive down. Bass are known to follow crank bait and hit it from the rear. Make sure to use them where the water has no weeds and is deep. These baits need to be reeled in slow and then fast. Try to bring them in with a stop-and-go technique. When a bass bites, do not pull the hook roughly or you will risk pulling it out.
Buzz baits work best in shallow water with weeds. You can cast the buzz bait directly on the weeds or lily pads. Reel it in instantly. This type of bait has a propeller in them so they dont get tangled in the weeds. The buzz bait should be cast into an open spot in the weeds, and then tug it over them. Bass love to hide under lily pads. This type of fishing lure has blades that appeal to the attention of bass.
A spoon is a good fishing lure to use in deep open water. You should cast it out as far as you can. Use a stable recapturing action to bring it back to you. It is a good idea to have a variety of different colored spoons. When one color is not biting, another may work. Do not use spoons in weedy or shallow water.
